Renewable African Mahogany
Beautiful and Sustainable
African mahogany arrived in Brazil in 1977 during the visit of the minister of Agriculture from the Ivory Coast. The Minister of Agriculture gave seeds of Khaya Ivorensis to the Brazilian authorities. These seeds were immediately planted. The result is that the species is now fully adapted to the soil and has spread to several regions of the country. Due to this favorable outcome, the Brazilian government has encouraged planting with tax incentives
